THE SECOND FRONTLINE NIGHT
My brother is hosting a music night in the local pub this Friday(tomorrow). The night is called frontline. The first 100 people get a free pint and pints are €3 all night. The line up for the event is as follows:
“Scuzzbucket”(not sure if the name is correct but you get the idea)
A rapper from Dundalk. 20 years old. Dan met him once at a house party at 4:20am, he was on a kitchen counter orchestrating a sing song.
“Messcaledo”(pretentiousness is this bands speciality)
Jimi Hendrix style music fronted by a guy who can play full solos with his teeth. I have witnessed this so I know cat can whale. Dan knows the guitarist as he lives in rush.
“Those Pesky little kids”(ironically all members are neither pesky nor kids)
Sean, the keyboard player, co hosts the frontline night and is and animal on the keys.
They play soul / van Morrison / funk / james brown style music. They are good.
“Cannon vs Rocket”(I have forgotten their correct cool pseudonyms)
Theses are two graffiti artists who are going to do a large piece each and the crowd will vote for the best one. Winner gets some metaphorical respect. Dan met them in town while shopping, they were defacing some public property and this impressed him.
“Urban Intelligence”(rappers from ballymun)A posse from ballymun aged between 14-18 (I love them at that car-robbing-age) is coming to rush to headline the night. Dan met them in tower records were they were ‘performing’. Trouble(group family members) is certain to find this event.
